Rev. Dr. Bobby Nichols has had a varied career in ministry and counseling.
After serving in the military during the Vietnam era in a mechanized infantry unit, he began his career in Clinical Pastoral Care at Sinai Samaritan Hospital in Milwaukee Wisconsin.Coming to  Tennessee, he graduated from A merican Baptist College with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Theological Studies and Psychology. The Tennessee School of Religion awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1996.
In addition,he has over 1,000 hours of training in forms of Nouthetic pastoral counseling. Pastor Nichols worked as a counselor for the Nashville Rescue Mission for over 20 years in the Drug Recovery Program for Men and Women and served as the Director of Volunteer Services for two years at the mission. He retired from the Nashville Rescue Mission in 2015. He has served as an advisor for Tennessee State University Collegiate Ministry under Chaplain JoAnne Scaife. Presently, he is the pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville TN. Pastor Nichols is married to Patricia Nichols, the love of his life. He and Pat have three children and eight grandchildren.
